Immediate Job Opportunity for a Technical Marketing Engineer: The job location for this position can be split between our San Francisco and San Jose based offices.

Technical Marketing Engineers (TMEs) are product focused, working with a cross-functional team to ensure that the products that Palamida is bringing to market are successful in a wide variety of customer engagements. Palamida’s Product Management team manages Enterprise software products for the Enterprise Open Source Software market.

TMEs have intrinsic product knowledge as well as detailed technical knowledge about a variety of software development and management environments where the product has to reside. TMEs should have the ability to clearly articulate the technical differentiators of a product as well as work with Palamida Product Management and Engineering in identifying customer requirements and product gaps. Extensive customer and field interaction is a must.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the VP of Product Management in formulating and prioritizing technical requirements based on customer feedback and market research.
  • Assist in activity regarding competitive analysis and providing field-facing materials that help position and sell Palamida products in competitive situations.
  • Support Product Marketing in the creation of Technical collateral, application notes, technical white papers, presentations, and demonstrations.
  • Support sales and marketing efforts as required. Some travel (including international).
  • Support product launch activities and assist with Tradeshows, Conferences and Technical Sales Training or Channel Partner Training activities.
  • Respond to customer or field inquiries, assist with Technical RFPs and work with a cross-functional team of PMs, SEs, Engineers as required.
Qualifications
  • BS/BA degree, CS or EE degree a plus, MBA or business classes a plus.
  • 4 - 8 years experience in leading efforts as a TME or in a related field such as product marketing, sales engineering, or engineering.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills required.
  • Technical ability to setup and configure backend servers for database, web application, enterprise software applications, etc.
  • Background in network or application security a plus.
  • Experience with software development environments strongly desired.
  • Driven, with an entrepreneurial spirit and sense of urgency. Must be resourceful, proactive, and aggressive.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, motivated self starter; able to work independently.
  • Team player that works well in collaborative situations and start-up environments.
