Sales Development Representative

The person in this role is instrumental in building a strong sales pipeline for the field sales staff through active prospecting and appointment setting. Ideal candidates will have strong phone skills and the ability to network through organizations to find and schedule meetings with decision makers.

Responsibilities

  • Business-to-Business prospecting and appointment setting
  • Cold calling, information gathering, objection handling
  • Qualifying leads from trade shows, events, mailers, other activities

Required Skills & Experience

  • Excellent telephone and written communication skills
  • Strong objection handling skills and persistence
  • Able to engage management decision makers and influencers at any level
  • Inside sales or customer service experience in a business-to-business environment
  • Proven track record in cold calling, sales prospecting and appointment setting
  • Understand organizational structures and decision making processes

Additional Skills:

  • Understand the sales process and able to hit quota
  • Able to take direction and incorporate feedback into work
  • Basic understanding of software development life cycle and IT industry terms
  • Strong Microsoft Office and Salesforce skills
