It is a busy week at Palamida - two new product announcements and participation in the Gartner ITexpo here in San Francisco. The product announcements are our IP Amplifier Server Edition, and our Vulnerability Reporting Solution. Read about them at Palamida.com. They represent a lot of work and dedication from our Palamida team - so congrats to all of them on the announcements.
Together, they expand the value we deliver to our customers. The hard part is still detection - the automated discovery and reporting of "whats in your code". Something we have focused on for the more than three years that the company has been in business. But it has always been our goal to tell you as much as we can about what we find. Originally, that was information about the intellectual property status of the open source and other third party code that you choose to use. Answering the questions "what do I have?," "where is it?" and "what are my rights to use it?." Now we're adding another...does this code have any vulnerabiities reported against it?." We can do that by aggregating information from our own and public vulnerability sources and associating it with the software components we find within your code. And it is still the case that most organizations use way more open source code than they are aware of through any formal process.
Together, these products allow us to think more broadly about what we do - and I believe it is now about helping customers get the full benefit from open source and other third party code while managing the risks. Software Risk Management for Open Source.
