I sent an opinion piece to CNET which was published today. you can see it here. It hits at a point that I think is becoming inevitable - that we will increasingly publish the "IP ingredients" of our software. In other words, since we are increasingly using 3rd party code, it will make sense from a number of perspectives to declare whats in there. The analogy I used was to food labeling. Have a look.
