I really like what IBM did today as reported in this article, and I encourage you to read it. They announced that they would publish their patent applications online, which is a huge change in behavior. The article has a lot of excellent discussion which I won't repeat. I have to observe however that respect for intellectual property happens best with more eyes on it - and thats exactly what will happen here. Nice work.
