We announced our second product today - IP Authorizer. You can read about it here. Its a wonderful example of listening to, and working with, customers to build something they can use. IP Authorizer is designed to allow a software developer to request permission when he or she wants to include some 3rd party code into the project they are developing and get an answer back quickly about whether to proceed or not. But more than that - its a way for companies to make their software IP policy an integral part of the software development process, and to create a record of their decisions, what products, when, in what development projects. We found that many of our customers were doing this manually, so it just made sense for us to develop this as a product. It is a terrific companion to our first product IP Amplifier - which does the detection and reporting of software that is already in the codebase. So now we have more of the process covered - IP Authorizer to help with the upfront decision, and IP Amplifier to assist with downstream audits.
We excited to see our product line grow. The question "what's in your code" is getting more relevant all the time, and with this new addition to the product line, we can do a better job of helping our customers answer accurately and easily.
