Palamida has a highly experienced management team with executives from a number of well established companies as well as highly successful VC backed start-ups including Sun Microsystems, HP, IBM, iPass, StrataCom, NetScreen Technologies, Juniper Networks, and Cacheon.
As CEO, Mark leads corporate strategy and growth. A well-known speaker and industry visionary, he brings over 30 years expertise in global high-tech marketing, product and business strategy to the team. Prior to joining Palamida, Mark spent ten years with Sun Microsystems. During his tenure he was executive vice president, marketing and strategy, as well as chief strategy officer responsible for corporate marketing, product and business strategy, M&A, industry marketing and ISV programs.
Previous to Sun, Mark served as President and general manager of iPlanet, a strategic alliance between Sun and AOL Time Warner focused on Internet infrastructure software. iPlanet became a division of Sun in March 2002. Throughout his career he has held senior level executive positions in marketing that included MasPar Computer Corporation and Hewlett-Packard Company.
Mark holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and a B.S.E.E. from the University of Illinois.

Founder & CTO
Jeff Luszcz is the Founder and CTO of Palamida, a leading provider of Open Source discovery and vulnerability management tools. Since starting Palamida in 2004 he has helped hundreds of software companies understand how to best use open source while complying with their license obligations and keeping on top of security issues.
He leads the professional services team responsible for open source compliance and security audits. His team has performed reviews for some of the largest mergers and acquisitions in the technology industry.
He spent six years as a software engineer at NASA Ames Research Center where he implemented software for simulation and visualization of flat panel display technology and their related human factors. Throughout his career, he has been active in the Java, Macintosh and Open Source software communities. Jeff is also the author of several well-known Macintosh software utilities and has served as a technical editor for Wrox Press. He received his B.S. from Cornell University School of Operations Research and Industrial Engineering.
Director of Product Management
As the Director of Product Management Alex is responsible for all aspects of product definition, roadmap and management for Palamida’s current and next generation products.
He has been with Palamida since 2006, and has worked in a number of critical roles that run the gamut from professional services, technical support, pre-sales support, solutions engineering and product management. Prior to Palamida, Alex spent 7 years at Selectica under various roles including professional services, pre-sales support and solutions engineering.
He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis, and an M.B.A. from San Jose State University.
Director of Professional Services
As Director of Professional Services, Ethan leads the Professional Services team responsible for audit services and training. He is responsible for managing Palamida’s ever growing audit services team performing baseline and M&A audits for Palamida’s portfolio of over 150 audit customers. He is also responsible for delivering training and advising on open source policies and best practices both internally and externally.
Prior to Palamida, Ethan was at Cisco Systems under various roles ranging from QA and programmer to project/development leads and technical advisor to senior staff. He spent the last 4 years at Cisco defining, developing and operationalizing Cisco’s first formal open source due diligence process for M&A and divestitures. He also played a key advisory role to CxOs regarding investments, acquisitions, divestitures in various technology areas.
He received his B.S. in Computer Science from San Jose State University with a Minor in Mathematics. He has done academic research in the field of cryptography including publishing a paper on deciphering Hamptonese with Hidden Markov Models. In his spare time, Ethan likes to dabble in photography, outdoor activities, and travel as much as possible. He is also a self-proclaimed movie buff and a self-refuted "professional photographer".
Director of Support
As the Director of Support, Doug leads a team that is responsible for supporting Palamida’s global customer base. Doug’s focus is on working with developers to improve the product, developing new tools and technologies, and writing and maintaining company documentation.
Doug has been with Palamida since 2012, where he was previously a source-code auditor, and has trained customers on forensic IP analysis and best practices.
He earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Connecticut, focusing on formal logic and languages.
Director of Editorial
Eugene Leonov is the Director of Editorial for Palamida. He has extensive experience analyzing large volumes of data and is responsible for defining Palamida’s overall Open Source Software (OSS) collection strategy and maintaining the Compliance Library—a library of detection rules and metadata used by the Palamida Product to identify OSS content.
His passion lies in finding innovative ways to use Palamida’s wealth of collected and categorized Open Source Software to make code auditing more efficient and automated. This requires him to work across the board with all of Palamida’s departments from Engineering to Sales to Product Management.
Eugene has been with Palamida for over 4 years, and has spearheaded a number of critical projects which evolved into new features in the Palamida Product used by customers and Palamida’s own Professional Services team.
Eugene holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
